SWIM STARS SET FOR BRITISH GAS DUEL IN THE POOL AGAINST USA

American Swimming Stars to Take On European Select Team at the 2009 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool

Event to be held in Manchester, England, December 18-19, broadcast on NBC on December 27

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The top swimmers from three European nations will gather to take on Team USA in the Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool, December 18-19 in Manchester, England. The bi-annual Duel in the Pool is a made-for-TV event, designed to showcase the sport’s most exciting swimmers in non-Olympic years. This year’s Duel takes on a new format with Team USA facing a team comprised of the top swimmers from Great Britain, Germany and Italy. The event will be held at the Manchester Aquatic Centre and a two-hour broadcast of the event will air on NBC on December 27 from 2 – 4 p.m. ET.. (+more)

Format

  • The competition will be a dual-meet competition with 13 men’s and 13 women’s events and two relays for both men and women.
  • Each team will have up to eighteen (18) women and eighteen (18) men. The combined team of Germany, Great Britain and Italy will be permitted to have up to six (6) women and six (6) men from each of the countries.
  • A running score will be kept combining the points earned by both women and men.
  • The course for the competition will be 25 meters (short course).
  • A swimmer can enter up to six events during the meet – any combination of individual and relay events.

Duel Tickets Sold Out

There is a limited selection of tickets left for the 2009 Duel in the Pool. They are now available online.

All ticket holders please note, you must print your E-ticket email (the one that shows your seat numbers) and bring it with you to the event.
Please click TheTicketSellers logo to check where you are sat on the seating plan.

For large groups not arriving together, everyone must know the e-ticket code and where you are sitting.

S prefix is for Start end, T for Turn end - please ensure you come through the correct door, this will be clearly signposted on the day.

Disabled access customers (no prefix), should come through the main front door on Booth Street.
