Background:
Larsen announced his arrival on the international swimming scene at the 2003 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool, where he became the third-fastest American of all time in the 1500m free. A little more than a year later, he shattered the American record in that event en route to winning a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. He will compete in both the 800 and 1,500m free next month at the FINA World Championships in Montreal.

Quote:
“Everyone will say the most serious thing in a non-Olympic year is Worlds. But in the Duel, we will go out and swim our hearts out. It’s a fun thing for all of us. It’s a chance to race, which is something all of us love.”
