Background:
Captain of the Telstra Dolphins, Grant remains unbeaten in the 1500m freestyle since 1997. In 2004, he displayed all the courage and commitment for which he has become known, overcoming serious illness to defend his Olympic crown in the 1500. “Hacky” also won a silver behind teammate Ian Thorpe in the 400m free in Athens and another silver behind the Americans as a member of the Aussie’s 800m free relay.
